On Friday, May 11, 2007, Glenn Patton SFFFK's Managing Director presented Ben Mason a check for $3,500 donated by family and friends to continue Matthew Beard's research.  In attendance was Matthew's mother Connie Beard, Family, Friends and Co-workers.

Ben Mason gave a presentation about Matthew Beard's discovery and how he was going to carry on the research.  In a nutshell Matthew discovered that certain corals are sensitive to light and that their favor color is red.  This discovery could effect many issues related to coral restoration.
