The Sanctuary Friends Foundation is the non-profit partner of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and was created to inspire people to preserve, protect and promote our Florida Keys Sanctuary. Through public and private-sector partnerships the Foundation creates conservation-based research and education and outreach programs designed to connect the public with these special ocean and coastal resources.

The Foundation works to build partnerships throughout the community to promote conservation and develop an ocean-literate public able to make informed and responsible decisions regarding the ocean and its resources.

The Foundation assists the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in protecting coral reefs through grassroots, community-based efforts focused on projects such as coral reef restoration, surveys, monitoring, and research. SFFFK also sponsors environmental education for audiences that include children, visitors, and businesses, and is continually striving to support and strengthen the creation and implementation of community-based efforts that protect our Florida Keys waters.
